It’s not often I get the chance to see a great hip hop performance without leaving Long Island. Accompanied by his 4 piece band HGH, rapper action Bronson brought one to Mulcahy’s in Wantagh. Equipped with album cuts as well as hits like Easy Rider," "Actin Crazy," and "Baby Blue," he kept a poised pace throughout the night. Bronson’s magnetic personality, exceptional lyrical skills, and undeniable stage presence, proved once again why he is considered one of the most exciting and influential figures in contemporary hip-hop. Action's music translated beautifully live, sometimes stopping mid sentence to draw suspense. I will say it was a tad subdued compared to the usual stage diving performances I have witnessed in the past, but came across more cozy, personal and intimate . Despite his larger-than-life persona, Bronson managed to establish a real connection with the audience, even expressing gratitude for our unwavering support. As big of a fan as I consider myself to be, each song sounded elegantly unfamiliar, enticing me to spend the ride home listening to his catalog. Action Bronson's live performance on Long Island was an exhilarating experience that left a lasting impact on all of us who attended.
